Thank you to those of you who shared your recipes with me, I am going to try each one! They sound great!

Now, to be fair I will share one of my favorites (as requested by Mrs. Kristen F.)

Actually, this recipe can be found on the back of a can of French Fried Onions. You know what I am talking about? The crunchy stuff you put on top of green bean casserole. Well if you pick up a can at the store the only other ingredients you need are eggs and salt/pepper I believe. You take your chicken breasts (tenderize them if you like...which I do) dip them in the egg concoction and then dip it in some of the smashed up French Fried onions. Coat each piece and side well. Then you just bake it and serve. SO EASY and great tasting. It's a healthier option if you are craving that great fried chicken taste. So anyways to get the details, check the back of the can to make sure I am not leaving anything out.

Also, Kristen F., I made the Mexicali dish last night but had trouble getting all the rice to cook. I think I will have to double the amount of water next time or precook the rice. Did you have the same trouble? It was great by the way! I am going to eat some for lunch!

Sooooo what's your favorite recipe? Eric and I are looking for some new recipes because we are tired of the stuff we always make. We have been looking for recipes in magazines, cookbooks and online but I really want stuff yall have made that has actually been eaten (by people we know) that way it already has the stamp of approval before we starting making magic in the kitchen.

As some of you have inquired about....my book writing has been on the halt lately. For those of you who didn't know...I am writing....something that I think will turn into a book one day. Although it will probably have few readers, I am still going to do it, so there. :) I'm talking years here people...so don't get too excited. I just really think it is something important that I need to do.

Now, I know what you are thinking...you are scrolling over past blog entries I have here and you are thinking....yikes...I bet it will be a REALLY great book with random thoughts, a whole bunch of ................................... (these), and bad grammar. However, I think I may surprise even those of you who tend to be a little on the skeptic side.

So, that's that.

Kristen D.- I hate leaving Grace at the kennel too!!! I feel so guilty because I can't explain to her that Yes, we do love her, and No, this is not permanent! We always try to leave her with friends too....but I feel your pain. BUT at least you know someone will have their eyes on the girls and of course (another plus of having two dogs)...they get each other when mommy and daddy can't be around!

Hello Beautiful! I am Rachel Porter and I get the distinct opportunity to blog about living overseas. My husband is in the Army and we have literally moved all over the world. I hope that during this time together we can love on and support each other in the challenges of living away from the good old U.S.A. We recently moved back to the states, but I have no doubt we can continue on this journey together.

Each time we move, during the 2nd or 3rd week in my new physical home I typically experience what I call “moving reality.” This simply means the newness and excitement has worn off and I want to go back from where we just moved. They love me there! They like me there! They know me there!

This happened when we moved to Italy. There we were in a different country. I couldn’t speak the language, I could not stop and ask directions if I got lost, we had no Sonic, we had no Target, we had no friends…… and they drove so CRAZY! I was alone, angry and ready to go home.

One night, we had just put the girls to bed and I was about to become a basket case. Kelly (my husband) and I opened the windows to let in some air (no A/C’s in Italy). When we did, we could see where on top of a hill stood a sanctuary. It had a very simple, lit cross. Kelly said, ”I know it is hard, but that cross is a great reminder of God’s faithfulness. He will take care of us here.” I, being in a very pity-party place at the moment, thought to myself, “Glad that works for you dude, but I’m not buying it.” That was horrid, I know.

Despite my attitude God was FAITHFUL and I had to make a conscious decision to remember that truth. I knew that God took care of me at the last assignment, and the assignment before that, and the assignment before that and He would not let go of me during that new assignment.

Each place is different, and sometimes these overseas tours can be perfect, O. K. or downright horrid. So, if you find yourself wondering, “Will God take care of me all the way over …….. (fill in wherever you are)?” HE WILL. Italy was not an easy assignment for us, but He provided a great chapel community and friends. These were friends who once again had my heart and were hard to leave when the Army moved us yet again.

So overseas gals, I look forward to taking this journey with you, especially because our God is Faithful! Comment and let me hear from you! Where are you currently stationed?

Blast from the Past

Went up to the school to visit my work friends and see some of the kids....so cute. I can't get enough hugs and "Mrs. Christen's!!!!" The little ones couldnt help being fascinated by my pregnant belly! Reagan even kicked to show off a little, I think she was excited by all their little voices. It made me miss working there and spending time inside their worlds each day. Of course, now that I am back they can't keep me from visiting...anytime I want.

Favorite question of the day:

--little girl "Mrs. Christen, is your baby coming today?"

--ME "Uh, no ___________....... not that I am aware of!"

32 weeks as of tomorrow...baby doing great and growing perfectly!

Happy Fourth

Happy Fourth friends! I am so thankful for our country and for those who have given everything to serve and protect her freedoms. Don't forget to thank God for what you have here...freedom!!! Please help us pray for our troops serving too. They need constant prayer and support from home, not only from their own families, but also from their entire country.

Eric and I celebrated in town. We went to the R. Bro. Bar. & Bailey Circus on Saturday night which was totally awesome! (Sorry no pictures,I can't find my camera...oops.) Just imagine 11 tigers growling at the tiger tamer all in one cage. It was very intense! The elephants and horses were also some of my favorites....although watching people get launched out of a cannon is not something you get to see very often. :)

We also had a cookout and went to watch fireworks over the bay. Overall we had a relaxing fourth which is just what the doctor ordered for both of us...I can't believe next year Reagan will be here to celebrate with us!

Cough Cough....only 60 days????? This thrills me and frightens me all in one.

Where has all the time gone!

10 WAYS YOU WILL KNOW YOU ARE 31 WEEKS PREGNANT:

1. You have to change your shirt three times a day because you continually keep spilling food on yourself....Reagan isn't the only one who needs a bib.

2. Your belly button is popped out and pokes through your shirt.

3. You can't watch the food channel anymore because instead of it making you sick, it makes you even more HUNGRY.

4. You have outgrown your maternity clothes.

5. Ice Cream is a must have in the house at all times....at all times.

6. You need a pull or a push getting up from the couch.

7. You cry at sappy commercials again.

8. You eat more than your husband and your usual portions of food ain't cutting it anymore....so you get more an hour later.

9. Your belly itches really bad when you forget to lotion it up for the day and people catch you scratching it in public....hehe.

10. The first thing people ask you is what you are having and when you are due. Also, people just stare at your belly like they have never seen a pregnant girl before....what's up with that?

Now these may not be all true for you, but they are all true for me.

Baby is like 3 and 1/2 pounds now and getting closer to her birth length.....how cool is that?

Yes, I will post pictures of the baby's room....just not yet. We still have some work to do before that happens. I guess you will just have to wait....

Hurricane Alex did not hit Corpus hard. We have just had tons of rain and gusty winds. Nobody here really boarded up or anything. I am thankful it passed us, but I have everyone south of us in my prayers. People, be safe out there!
