Thankful for Baby

It’s our Connor’s first Thanksgiving. He’s only five months old, so he doesn’t grasp the concept of thankfulness or understand how God provides for us each and every day. He doesn’t yet know the joy in salvation or humbleness from forgiveness. He doesn’t even understand the fall, temptation, and sin (of which, I am grateful for).
While he doesn’t yet know what to be thankful for, I have quite a bit to say when it comes to our baby.
I’m thankful for sleepless nights – for it means my son is alive.
I’m thankful for diapers (wet and stinky) – for it means that my son is well-nourished.
I’m thankful for formula – because none of my children (or I) really ever got the hang of breastfeeding.
I’m thankful for all the laundry – because it means we have plenty to provide for our child.
I’m thankful that he has outgrown all of six month and under clothes because it means he is healthy and growing.
I’m thankful for all the toys lying around – because I know that he is being stimulated and learning, even at this young age.
I’m thankful for each smile and coo -it means that he knows he is safe and loved.
I’m thankful for the quiet moments – they give me time to reflect on yet another precious miracle the Lord has blessed my life with.
Though times may get tough, and there are days I want to rip my hair out and hubby wants to know if we can put him back in—I know there is no greater gift than a child—whether it is one that is natural, or one that is adopted (legally or by natural osmosis).

Now it's my turn! We are so thankful to have Reagan with us! (I wanted to share this article because it puts all the little things in perspective.) Reagan- you will always be our little angel...not a day goes by that we don't stare in amazement at how sweet you are. You have made Mommy and Daddy feel like the luckiest people on earth. We love you and that will never change.

5 things
1. Oh my goodness I love Chocolate Pecan Pie................................sooooooooooooo gooooood. If you haven't tasted it you are missing out.
2. I love bath time with Reagan. Seriously this girl makes bath time look so fun! She kicks her legs and splashes now. Is she already big enough to do that!? Oh my I'm not ready for all this growing up stuff!
3. I love Scentsy to Kristen! My favorite smell is French Kiss...it makes any dirty diaper smells go away.
4. If the Aggies beat Nebraska I am going to shave my head in celebration.
5. Jessica bought a kiddy bible for Reagan and when I read Genesis 3 to Reagan (about the Sneaky Snake) she made a sad face and stuck out her big pouty lip! Nobody likes that Sneaky Snake!

TITLE HERE
Oh bloggerville. I don't have many words these days. Most of the time I find myself starting blogs and never finishing...either due to baby needing mommy or lack of ideas. Today will be a short update.
We are doing great here. Reagan is growing like a weed which is so fun to watch. She likes to grab things now...hair, clothing, skinny toys, things on the wall...she really is loving her fingers! She also is very vocal! Especially the last three days she really has kicked up the usage of her vocal chords. She oohs and aahs and maaaahhssss the day away! She has started going down for longer periods of sleep at night which we are loving of course...but it's still irregular as suspected for a 2 and a half month old. She giggles and smiles so big when you talk and sing to her...it is so cool to watch. She has already even scooted off her mat once!! I was shocked and she hasn't done it since...I don't think she knew what she was doing or how she did it but it was pretty cool.
We are moving to North Carolina after the winging in December and will be there for 3.5 years --approximately. I am so excited to go somewhere for more than six months! I can hang curtains and actually unpack some boxes that haven't been unpacked in three moves! YAY. (That really is a big deal for us!) We are again excited to see where the Lord will take us as we start again in a new home, town, state. (I'm coming Dalton!!!!!!)

“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:23-25
Many days our marriage can seem like a mountain in the path of life, deployments and separations can cause strife in a marriage. Frustrations can occur, as can meltdowns, bitterness, and resentment. This verse tells us we must forgive others and hold nothing against them if we expect God to forgive our own sins! It also tells us to believe in what we are praying for. If you have a failing marriage and have been praying for God to restore it, yet you don’t believe it will happen…what are your prayers worth? God tells us we must believe in order to receive.
Prayer prompt: Today focus your prayer on the military marriage, many are suffering as we face multiple deployments and the stress of PTSD. Pray for healing of marriages around the world.

Caught ya!
I caught her hand in the cookie jar....
or rather her paw in the cookie jar....
or rather her tongue in the... cobweb?...
that's right.
I caught my dog eating cobwebs! I had two reactions......EWW and weird!
Maybe there was a delectable food particle she had to have or maybe she just really got curious and decided today was her lucky day....
who knows. (At least she found them for me so I could clean it up! Good eye there Gracie!)
